If the program goes in to the cnc but goes in too fast causing buffer overflow then i think we can assume baud rate etc are all correct.

Make sure flow control is enabled. Thats xon/xoff in the cnc parameters. Also make sure that xonxoff is enabled in the dnc software.

If it still overflows maybe consider lowering the baud rate. (Set the same baud rate in the cnc and in the dnc software).

Or increase the block delay in the dnc software setup.

Does your haas have an xmodem option? If it does then try that.

I use the Cimco Edit V6 software. How to change the block delay?

I'm very sorry. Cimco Edit is not our product. I've never used that product so I just don't know. Take a look in the setup window - you might see a setting for Block Delay. Alternatively just try a lower baud rate or, if Cimco has an XModem option try that.

Lower baud rate or XModem should remove the necessity of a block delay if cimco doesn't have that.

But, as I said, Cimco isn't our product so I just don't know how to configure it. Sorry.
