Topic:   DNC to Fanuc Machine

By: GuestPosted on: Feb 16 2015 at 09:52:42 PM
I had to reinstall this software, and with doing that I cannot communicate with my machine in English. It does send over a code but its in XoXoXo language which is really useless to our company. Can anyone help with setup parameters between my computer and the Fanuc machine.

Thanks

What is XoXoXo language? Never heard of that before. Probably you're just sending junk because the baud rate is wrong.

What happens when you send data from the fanuc to the computer? What does the data look like?

I am also experiencing a similar problem
The text coming from the CNC on a Fanuc OT control lathe, is unreadable, I have set the Baud rate at 2400 and still jibberish is being sent to the PC

I am using a USB to serial port converter connection and the Software has detected the port.
But when sending data there is either a couple of windings or nothing if i change the baud rate

First thing - make sure the CNC and the DNC are both set to the same baud rate.

Go to

DNC Setup for Fanuc OT CNC

That lists the parameters for the Fanuc OT. Make sure the baud rate in the DNC is the same as the baud rate in the Fanuc.

Also look at the ISO/EIA setting. ISO is recommended. Set The DNC to ISO as well (Depending on version - some do not have EIA option anyway)

Then send some data from CNC to computer.
If the data is complete gibberish - not even a few characters correct - then the baud rate is wrong.
If the data has lines of data that look near the correct length but around 50% of the characters on each line are gibberish then the problem is parity.
